I hate not knowing what's going on.. and in my life lately there is so much going on and everything depends on everything else that I just have no clue where I am or where I'm going (well.. that's not true.. I know where I'm going) or when I'm going there.. or how I'm getting there.. or anything. And it's really vibing me. But what's worse than not knowing anything that's going on is people asking me pretty much constantly what's going on. And them asking me these questions just reminds me that I have no clue. Not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask me what I'm doing for xmas or new years or when I'm moving or what my plans are after school or one of those questions that at the present moment I really do not have the answers to. So, just a little note to anyone who is thinking about asking me any of these questions.. or any others for that matter.. I will let you know when it's all figure out.

Other than that.. I have come to the realisation that Montreal drivers are crazy.. and the next car that pulls in front of me as I'm crossing an intersection or honks their horn at me because they feel I'm not walking across the street fast enough is going to get their headlights kicked in by yours truely.

Yeah..

So yeah, it's been awhile since either Shawn or I have posted. Well.. we've been busy taking over Montreal together. Sadly he left today and I am once again alone.. but that's okay.. not for long.

Nothing much has happened recently (other than Shawn's visit). At the moment I am procrastinating doing homework.. but what else is new? I voted today. Hopefully the election here is going to be better than the one in the States. I am pretty much sick and tired of hearing about all this Gore/Bush stuff.. and I can't wait for it to be over.

Umm.. yeah.. blah blah blah blah blah.. how boring am I? Without Shawn around I don't know what to do with myself.. awww..

Yeah.. and stuff..

Yeah so.. both my Adobe ImageStyler and Premiere are performing illegal operations and I am unable to open either program. Which is just absolutely wonderful as I have work to do using both programs and do not have the time to play around and try and figure out what the hell is going on. I am *NOT* impressed.

I bought a new book yesterday.. Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto and finished already.. so once again I am bookless.. *pout* I suppose I will have to go downtown tomorrow and buy something to read. I can't be without a book for too long. I always carry a book with me.. cause you never know when you're going to be bored, stuck in a line somewhere.. or on the metro or the bus or something like that.

Speaking of downtown.. even though I go to school downtown and am there pretty much everyday.. I'm never really downtown. I just go to school and come home.. but this week.. for some reason.. I have been spending a little too much time downtown.. it's freaking me out a bit.

I have so much to do in the next few days seeing as Shawn will be here soon. (Yay!!!) I have to clean and dye my hair and do homework and all sorts of fun stuff.. at least it'll keep me out of trouble.. hopefully..

Anyway.. I need a new lighter.. matches suck..

lalala..

Apparently the Quebec government has this plan to merge Montreal and all it's suburbs to create a megacity. For some reason this scares me.

I can't believe it's Monday.. it's actually been a pretty damn good day so far.. I know it's still early on in the day and all.. but if this morning is any indication of how the rest of my day.. or week will go.. it's gonna rock.

Usually I get up fairly early to go to school so I can meet my friend and drink like 20 cups of coffee in "our" booth (how hot is that.. we have our own booth) at this restaurant right beside school before we have to go to class. This morning she didn't feel like waking up early so I managed to get an extra half an hour of sleep and take my time in getting to school. Yeah, so I was a little late but I figure I'm always there on time and usually no one else is.. so as long as I don't make a habit out of it.. it's no big deal. The first class went well.. didn't do much.. read some blogs.. talked to my friends and just basically wasted a few hours. I was thinking that it would be cool if my second class was cancelled and I turned to a friend of mine in class and said "maybe David won't come to class today" (David being the teacher) and pretty much as the words came out of my mouth the secretary came in and announced that "David Deskin will not be in class today". Yay! Needless to say I got myself out of there and home as soon as my first class was finished.

And on top of it all I got Photoshop 6 today! Hurray for me! So now I'm going to go play around with it for a bit. Hopefully my creativity will come back to me. *crossing fingers*

Not so bad for a Monday..

So I've spent pretty much the whole afternoon playing around and trying to come up with a design for this web site I have to do for school. I'm starting to get a bit annoyed because I can't come up with any cool ideas for it. I have a ton of homework to do and I have to get it all done within the next week because Shawn will be here soon and there is no way in hell I am doing any homeowrk while he's in town. Normally I can sit in front of my computer for hours just playing around and doing stuff but lately I've been so disinterested in school and pretty much everything else I just don't even want to bother anymore. It's not like I don't try.. because I do.. it's just that nothing ever comes from my attempts. It's starting to get really frustrating. I just haven't been very creative lately. *sigh*

Found something cool as hell and thought I would share.

Yesterday I was pounding every resource on the web I could to try and find a PC version of Galaga. Well, late in the day I finally found one. I forget where now, but I found it. So I will share it. I don't even know if this is legal, but oh well. It is Galaga after all...

So here you go:

MageX with Galaga ROM 325KB Zip File.

Simply download, unzip into a folder, run the exe, select the Galaga ROM, and enjoy. (only thing is, none of the other games in the list are there.)

Rented 'The Acid House' today. I liked it.. but then again I'm a big fan of Irving Welsh. I actually haven't read the book yet but I plan on it. It's just that I have a bunch of other stuff to read first. One thing that annoyed me about the movie though is that it was subtitled. I mean it was in english and all.. but it's a Scottish movie so they were talking in heavy accents and stuff. I have no problem understanding heavy Scottish accents and slang so the subtitles kinda threw me off at points.. cause in the movie the actors were saying one thing and the subtitles said another. But isn't that always the way. *shrug*

Well, I voted, and I hope everyone else who is able and allowed to vote did as well. After all, you wouldn't want to get yelled at by the people who did vote would you?

No, not at all.

I got up at 6am so I could hit my polling place as they opened at 7am. I thought I might have to be on a job site in the mountains for most of the day and didn't want to miss my chance. I showed up at the Jefferson County DMV on 64th and Wadsworth in Arvada at about 6:45. Already there was a line forming outside. SO I rushed up to get a good place and stood in the cold for 15 minutes. It actually didn't take long at all to get into a booth and start punching out little holes in my ballot. [ My county's results my be found here for the next few days ]

So who and what did I vote for?

For President I voted Bush (Really I voted against Gore)

One major reason, and I have said this many times in the last few weeks, because I refuse to live in a country where Tipper Gore is influental to the highest seat of power. Her past track record of supporting censorship far surpassing the normal limits is frightening. Remember 2 Live Crew? Sure you do. Those nasty-as-they-wanna-be rappers from Miami whose sleazy lyrics and sexually explicit shows delighted suburban fans, tortured Tipper Gore, and raked in millions in album sales in the late eighties. She in turn got them taken off store shelves nation wide in an effort to force her views upon the public. Forget the fact that their album displayed the normal "explicit lyrics" sticker. And forget the fact that their shows were limited to the 21+ crowd. The point however, is where would she stop?

I did come really close to voting for Nader though. I would like to see the Green Party reach their goal of at least 6% of the popular vote so they may recieve better funding for the next election. Because lets face it, selection is the variety of life. I'm very against partisan politics. Sure I can vote for whoever I want to, but why should who I am voting for HAVE to take a stance on certain topics just because of the party he/she is affliated with. Simple answer, money. Money for funding from the party for the campain. The ammounts of money that are spent on these campains are staggering. More money was spent by the Bush campain alone then I will collectivly see in my entire life.

It makes me sick...

Time has become material; a commodity, a resource, a thing. But time is and always will be an extension of the mind. Stop to think and you create time. Run along at a frenzied pace and you accelerate the passage of time.

Haste makes waste.

People in a hurry keep around an electronic stopwatch in order to contain this spillover of time. For the frantic, a timer slows down time, fixing it to the infinitesimal scale of the second, the millisecond, the sub-atomic movement of ions.

But a watch will only slow down time by making it more rigid. That's the trade off. In the world according to hours:minutes:seconds, time becomes managebale only by gaining weight. The analogy: protecting a farm from floodwaters by paving it over with concrete.

Instead of marking time with monuments, we should make time with our habits and customs.

We should remove time from the overlapping spheres of science and industry and return it to the sphere of culture.

Like the farmer who directs the cycle of a plant's growth into a crop, time may also be planted, tended and harvested. The cultivation of time, however, is not the same as investment. The latter implies a stubborn fantasy of engineered returns, whereas the former recognizes that the seasons are beyond our control.

Some years there is drought. Others, it rains too much. We are human because we protect out harvest from both extremes. This is culture.

The first step towards making time is learning to live with time's irregularity. For time never "runs out," it mearly runs off; live a diverted river. Time is inexhaustible, a bottomless reservoir.

Follow the river.

I've been sitting here staring at my computer for the past.. oh.. hour and a half. I figured I should be doing some homework or something as I have like a ton of things due in about three weeks.. but I have no idea where to start. I'm really not even in the mood to do any homework.. or anything else for that matter. I'm in a bit of a weird mood today. I'm not in a bad mood or anything.. I just don't feel like doing anything.. and I'm rather tired.. even though I had a 4 hour nap this afternoon. My father figures I'm burnt out. *shrug* I really have no idea.

It's been a month since I was in Denver.. and three weeks to the day until Shawn comes to visit. The good thing about having a lot of work to do in the next three weeks is that hopefully *crosses fingers* time will go by fast and before I know it Shawn will be here. I hate waiting.. it drives me crazy. I think my disinterest in most things in my life lately comes from the fact that I know where I want to be and what I want to be doing and who I want to be with and all.. but unfortunately at the moment the things I want are rather impossible for me to have. *sigh*
