Now that he has his own weblog, Roosh has turned into a complete tool. His views of women are archaic.

Overheard today:
"I don't wear dresses and I don't wear shorts. It's a public service I provide to the community. hahahahaha"
I didn't laugh.

If you ask me, the only thing worse then country music is jesus preachin' country music with fiddles. I wish I could wear headphones at work.

Our cable modem was out for most of the weekend again. The reason being a faulty low channel filter that AT&T put on our line to block us from getting free cable. I have been calling them for 2 weeks now bitching about how our modem keeps losing sync. They kept trying to fault my computer, like it for some reason would make the cable modem confused. So every time they would tell me to change the network properties on my computer, I would say "sure, hold on a sec," hit some keys (really doing nothing), and then reboot. A few minutes later I would announce that nothing had changed. I swear, companies like AT&T must hire anyone they can get their hands on to provide first level support to their customers. The tech who actually came out to our place today to troubleshoot the problem went for the filter first. He knew what he was doing and had us up and running agian within 5 minutes of getting here. 2 weeks of bad service could have been saved, had they just listened to me in the first place. But what do I know? I'm just the enduser.
Other then that, we have been having a nice and relaxing weekend. I recieved an email from Dan this afternoon. It seems Cam will be in town this week and they want all of us Seattle types to get together and have dinner. Denver must just have been a black hole of the whole blogging world. No one would ever organize something like that (let alone visit from out of town to begin with). Already we have met Dan Bry, Zannah & James, and Jish. After this week, we will also have met the other Dan and Cam, as well as a bunch of other people who I don't know. Research would indicate they are: Brent, Clark, Anita, and whoever this is. Whew.
Oh, and I take it back. 80 isn't a hippie after all.

This Day in Punk History: Tuesday July 24rd, 1979
PATTI SMITH's newest single is perhaps her strongest yet. The original song "Dancing Barefoot" is taken from the LP "Wave." The non-LP flipside is a cover of Manfred Man's "5-4-3-2-1" recorded live in New York last May.
THE POLECATS Ever since Robert Gordon became the cool new thing in New York, it was inevitable that rockabilly fever would eventually spread across the Atlantic where teds have kept the '50s alive since the '60s. The latest English proponents are London-based revivalists The Polecats, who have their debut single out this week on the new Nervous Records label. They started out under the name Cult Heros, soon changed their name to the Polecats and are now Phil Bloomberg, Chris Hawkes, Martin (Boz) Boorer and Tim Worman. Secret messages scratched in the wax are "Chester's Been Fed" and Mill Hillbillies," the latter probably referring to the neighborhood near South Acton.

This Day in Punk History: Monday July 23rd, 1979
The Tom Robinson Band are splitting up! It was quite a shock, but the TRB have officially announced that they are going their seperate ways only four months after the release of their last LP "TRB2." Lead singer Tom Robinson had been feeling that the magic had gone out of the group since founder member Mark Ambler on keyboards and Dolphin Taylor on drums had left the group. Tom is working on writing some new material and planning a solo project. The others are taking in some studio work as they can. Danny Kustow, guitarist for the group hasn't wasted a minute getting his new group together. He's calling it the "Jimmy Norton Explosion." As a bit of a parting shot, EMI has released a single with two of the last Tom Robinson Band songs that remain unissued. The "A" side is "Never Gonna Fall In Love (Again)" which is credited as Tom Robinson with the Voice Squad. The overall sound is almost a dance club single with a synth backing, marking a totally new sound for Tom. It's flipped with "Getting Together" a normal sort of TRB song.

Today is the big day. We get married at 4:30pm!
woot!
Yesterday was a blast too. We spent the day with Erin's dad, just meandering around town. We went to the big mall in Bellevue, where he found an A&F store with a very nice sale. So I think he is really happy about that. After the mall, we went to a bar in West Seattle for cocktail hour. Finishing up the day at The Lighthouse Grill on Alki Beach was very nice. All in all, a very good day.

People who have supported Jimmy Eat World for a while now (like me) were treated today with a flash and MP3 streamed copy of the full album that will be released on Tuesday the 24th of July.
Enjoy it, and then go buy it.

I can not access this site from work right now, and I think I have found out why. The trace starts dropping packets when it hits part of alter.net, which is actually uunet. So, I went to their site (accessable, but mine isn't hmmmm) and found their UUNET - Maintenance Announcements page. Just look at that list of cities that are being "upgraded" today alone. wow.
So no looking at my own site today. Now lets see if Blogger can see it.

Wooo, now starts 30 hours without having to work! I took tomorrow off so I could hang out with Kelly and Greg for a full day before they leave. It turns out though that Greg is getting a tatoo for more of tomorrow, so it will just be Erin, Kelly, and I. I think we are going to go to some underground city thing here in Seattle. Something about an earthquake and this part of the city was burried. Either way, the camera is coming with me and photos will be taken. Also tomorrow we might go to dinner with James, Zannah, Bryan, and Dan again. Lets hope Dan makes the correct bus this time.
I made a comment about AOLivejournal today on their new site. I had to actually create an entire account just to post my opinion. So now there is a Slightly North of Tomorrow AOLivejournal. And quite a few people are clicking through to this site because of it. Wave to the sad misguided people.

The page cannot be found (link changed to preserve effect) is the new design over at blogger.
I wonder if Ev forgot to upload something. But, it seems you can still access the posting functions if you installed the right click blogging window.
Fuck, I don't want to use Greymatter.
UPDATE: It's back... phew

What a day we had. Greg and Kelly are in town. So we walked from capitol hill down to the Seattle Japanese Gardens, via some big park I kept calling the aboritorium. After exploring the garden and feeding the koi, we called for a cab and went down to the warf for some dinner. After dinner we went into Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, and I found a TOY NEW BEETLE!!! It is even Turbonium green, so I snatched that right up. As we were walking out of the shop, we saw this wierd looking thing asking for 50 cents. So in the money went. It should have had a sign warning that after inserting your money, very very loud pipe organ music would be produced.
It was a prettly cool day, so walking was nice. I love weather like this, but it was making our Denver friends tired. Damn sun loving freaks.
I added a picture section. I took a ton of pictures today, so i thought I would start sharing them. You can find a link to the photos page in the center bar. My camera rocks too. It is a HP315 with a 32mb flash card in it. With the photos at 640x480 I can take 324 pictures before it is full. I say god damn! That's a lot of pictures. Hell, I can store documents on it to take to work if I wanted to. Technology is crazy some times.

In less then 2 hours we will be going to the airport to pick up Greg and Kelly, 2 of my friends from Denver. Greg just found out today that he was coming here. Kelly made it a surprise birthday gift. Quite the gift. She even called his boss and told him what was up so Greg wouldn't have to come up with a reason on Monday.
Anyway, new design... again. Bryan gave me some sass about it. Mike thought it was quite the laugh though. Personally I miss the frog. But this will do. It is a lot cleaner then the gurl/boi thing was.

"I'm on my feet, I'm on the floor, I'm good to go
so come on davey, sing me something that i know
want to always feel like part of this was mine
want to fall in love tonight"
Jimmy Eat World's new album is within 2 weeks of release now. I have had the fortune to own a promo copy of it early. Needless to say, it rocks. I am very much looking forward to it. Also, I have heard that Sense Field has finally been snatched up by a new record label. So hopefully we can be looking at a new album from them in the near future as well.
If anyone has any information on Ron Marschall or Erin Richter (namely email addresses) from Christie Front Drive, a web site for a new band (Eric is in it) called "The 101" or a web site for "The Blue Ontario," please get ahold of me (link up above). Thanks.

Radio SNOT is up!
You can listen to some of my (and soon erin's too) favorite music, just click on the link in the top bar. Right now I have 75 songs up there that play for over 4 hours, and am only using 28% of the space available to me by live365. Look for a lot more in the very near future.

We are going to try this split format for a while. I'm still not sure if I like it. The few people I have showed it too have given me mixed comments. So, it isn't blowing anyone away. Now Erin just needs to get busy and fill that big blank side up.

Well, things worked out quite well this weekend. We actually had internet access again by Saturday morning. So much happened this weekend though, I didn't get a chance to update. So, time for a summary:
EverQuest bought my couch. Well, ok, a guy in Oklahoma bought my EQ accounts and then I bought my couch, but you get the point. I sold the accounts for $400 together. The couch cost $402.52 after tax. Net cost out of pocket: $2.52. Nice.
Sunday I got a hair up my ass to re-arrange our apartment. I think it looks a lot better now though. We still need to get rid of my HUGE desk and get something a little less tacky. Fake wood is just so... yeah. So a while later I found myself chatting with Bryan on ICQ. He wanted a BBQ grill. So, off we went to Bellevue for the day. We all went (that's Erin, Bryan, Dan, and myself) and picked out the grill Bry was looking at on the internet. Then some food. We went back to their place and set up the grill and cooked us some food. I really (I mean really) burned the corn. It was on fire at one point. Little did Dan know, hours before when he made comment about setting the building on fire, he would be close to correct. But, nothing bad happened.
After hanging out a bit, we went to Dairy Queen for treats. Yummy. Then we walked a bit in a park across the street. Dan told us of the psycho creatures in the park. And lo, right after telling us, a squirl ran from a tree down the path right at him. I have never before seen a squirl get that close to a person.

Well, this might be all you get to hear from me for the weekend. @Home still hasn't fixed our internet access, and I fear if they haven't done it by today, it won't be getting done till Monday. Sucks.
I ended up selling my EverQuest accounts for $400. I should be getting the money tomorrow. So, Erin and I are going to go couch shopping. I think $400 should get us a pretty nice one. Nothing super fancy, but good enough to be lazy on.
No internet all weekend though. Time to look for some things to do... Maybe Bry will call with some ideas. *hint* *hint*

The end is here: The Standard: Napster Unplugged
Personally I think this is the end of Napster until their announced pay service is released. In which case, it could mean the end for napster anyway. Too bad, I was able to find so many songs that have long since been out of print. Songs that reminded me of my youth, local bands I used to go see on a weekly basis. *sigh*

Erin and I are now licensed to get married. We did the paperwork at about 1pm today in downtown Seattle.
Erin's father will be getting into town on Friday, July 20th. It will be my first time meeting him face to face, so I'm looking forward to that. My parents will be in town too. Quite the gathering we will be starting here in Seattle. woo.

I found this regarding the heinz labels.
They're back and they just won't be quiet! Heinz Ketchup's wisecracking "talking label" bottles are returning by popular demand to add a splash of creative personality to any food. The boisterous bottles with funny messages on the label will be rapping with consumers again.
It seems this isn't a new thing.

Tonight we found something interesting while shopping. We were out of ketchup. As we arrived at the condiments section, something caught my eye. Sunscreen for French Fries. I did a double take. We found another one too. It was called Quiet, Tomatos Gathering Inside. Very odd stuff. They were the only 2 on the shelf like that. So we bought one. Hence the picture.

I think I have come to the conclusion that LiveJournal is the AOL of the blogging community. It is just set up in a way that attracts the most immature of internet users sharing their daily lives. Not to mention all the users who find it cool to make a blog named "bigjucycock" and then posting the same over and over and over again. I mean, what is the point to that? Next up, LiveJournal LiveMessaging. Where you can harass 14 year old girls with "cyber" requests too!

They say the visualization of your goal is the key to success. My goal happens to be money. The amount of money I spend on cigarettes is crazy. I just did a little calculation. If Erin and I quit now and save the money we would have spent on cigarettes, after 32 years we will have saved $105,049.84. So the count is on. The running total will be displayed at the top of this page from now on. All money saved is going to be deposited into a special savings account.
I should have thought of this years ago... I would have all my bills paid off by now.
