Erin and I are big Red Dwarf fans. Lately though, KTCS channel 9 in Seattle has stopped playing our nightly episodes at 11:00pm. So, today I found the schedule for the shows and it seems they are off the air until December 20th. But, on the other side of the coin, they start back up in December and are going to play all of seasons 5 through 8. I have never seen past season 5. So being able to watch them on TV is going to rock. I just wish we had a VHS so we could record them and watch them whenever we wanted to.

So then I was browsing the Red Dwarf site for the latest information on the movie and DVD release of the entire series. It seems the movie is slated for release in December of 2002 Worldwide. That's good news. And the much awaited 9th season is going to hinge on the sucess of the movie. So get everyone you know to go see the movie once it is out! As for the DVD release of the series, no new information. Damn.

Oh, and this link is for Erin. To cheer her up.

HP has a New Beetle flash driving game! Wow, too bad the car is red though. It would be the best game ever if the car was green. :)

I finished reading "Survivor" while I was in LA. The ending really bothered me though. So today I was poking around the internet and found the real ending to "Survivor"

It makes a lot more sense now.

This morning the sky is such an amazing color. It is overcast to the west, but clear to the east. So once the sun came up and started reflecting light off the water in the Puget Sound it turned the clouds this deep blue color. Amazing stuff. But it is cold this morning too. Still it is better then Denver, I think their high yesterday was somewhere around 30. Brrrr.

Well, last night we went and saw Weezer. I rate the show as 50% good. Jimmy Eat World was fun, and Weezer was of course a really good show. Tenacious D and the crowd sucked ass though. The night started off with a line to the building that started at the east enterance to Key Arena and finally ended about 300 feet from the monorail platform. I think we stood in line for over 45 minutes just trying to get inside. By the time we did get inside, there were alrady thousands of people there. So we snuck our way up as close to the stage as we could. I think we were about 5 people back from the left front railing. Not too bad. Once the lights went out and Jimmy Eat World got on stage, all bets were off. Damn good set, but it was hard to enjoy when you have some nappy asshole's armpit in your face. But, Erin and I were able to stick together, so I guess it wasn't all bad. JEW played about a 30 minute set, then took off. I wanted more, but what can you do?

Next came the D. I don't understand why so many people were crazy about seeing Tenacious D play. They were not any good. Every song was either about their "group," demons, or fucking. I mean, where is the talent in that? Sure, Jack Black is a pretty good actor. I wouldn't go see that new flick he is in, but I enjoyed him in The Jackal and High Fidelity. So we finally got fed up of being packed next to sweaty fools in the front, and made our way to the back of the floor. No small feat in that either. We made small talk while waiting for the D to finish their awful show.

For Weezer, we decided to be old folk and sit down. I'm kind of glad we did. Being in the back we were able to get the best sound quality. And being off the floor, we were able to enjoy the amazing visual show. It started off as a pretty basic stage setup, but then kept getting better and better. About every 3 songs or so, something would change on stage. Really fun stuff to watch. Weezer was playing some good songs too. Lots of stuff from the blue album and not too much from Pinkerton. Perfect set in my mind. The best was from "Only in Dreams." The whole song they played in a thick smoke cloud with dim back lighting. So we were only able to see their shadowy outline through the smoke. At the end of the song, they had us all in a trance of slow melody until it exploded. Glitter went everywhere, all lights were turned up as bright as they would go, and a huge "W" was unveiled. Classic Weezer showmanship. And I am so glad we didn't have to enjoy it smashed up against sweaty little kids.

I think Erin and I are through with large arena shows though. They are just not any fun anymore. Ticket prices are sky high, the lines to get into the building go around the block, and thousands of raging idiots seem to flock to them. Like little kids who heckle the opening band because they just can't wait to see the head-liner. I always enjoyed seeing opening bands because it was nice to hear something new. Maybe even a band I might want to listen to more after the show. I learned of Pansy Division that way. I caught them in Denver when they were opening up for Green Day back in 1995. I had never heard of Pansy Division, but I watched them with intent. They were the first openly gay band I had ever seen perform. And they were brilliant. Most of the crowd hated them, but I enjoyed the hell out of it.

I'm just so bored with music these days. I miss the days of going to local shows in Boulder and Denver. For a "hick" town, there sure was a lot of local sound to hear. Not many made it out of there though. Only Pinhead Circus, Christie Front Drive, and to an extent Acrobat Down. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of good local bands here in Seattle. Unless you like burnt up grunge leftovers. Which I don't.

Erin should enjoy this: The best Thai food in Seattle!

I made a little geocaching page on the site. Sort of a quick reference page and sort of a "haha, we have found more then Jish" page. You can get to it by clicking on the "Lets Go Geocaching" button in the middle there.

I think tonight we are going to watch "Waking Ned Divine." We rented it along with "The Godfather" on Sunday. Neither of us had ever seen "The Godfather," and we felt it was high time we saw it. Tuesdays are just so blah, I am glad we have a movie to watch. Tomorrow we have been invited to a little deal over at the Elliot Bay Book Company. Dan (the brainy one) will be there, and it will work out perfectly with our always busy on blogirc night pattern lately.

Yesterday was wierd. I don't know why, it just felt not real. We had fun, don't get me wrong, but I think the fact that we did 2 very "not us" things that took up the entire evening it just felt wierd. And I was tired as hell by the end of the night. Even after the yummy espresso drink Bryan made with his $12 espresso maker.

So anyway, the night started out with going over to Bryan and Dan's so we could all drive out to Issaquah together. We were headed to some GameWorks type of place. We were on the hunt for pinball games. However, this place had (I think) 4 DDR machines and only 3 pinball games. One of which broke while I was playing it. So pinball was a bust (or TILT, however you want to see it) and the rest of the oversized arcade was boring. I did get to play a few games of Tekken 4 with James though, and that was cool.

Erin decided she was hungry so we headed off in search of food. We decided that while we were in the area we might as well go to Krispy Kreme and get some hot fresh doughnuts. Well, we got there and stood in line for just over 30 minutes. At one point there were some bratty high school kids inside eating theirs and taunting us poor souls who were still in line outside. A few moments later, a man comes walking up the line with a tray of fresh doughnuts offering people in line to try them. Sort of a "thanks for standing in line for so long, we love our customers" geasture. So we each got a free hot doughnut. Dan promptly took his and went to the window of the kids inside. He gave them a look of "fuck off" while eating his FREE doughnut. It was classic. A little bit later, someone actually asked what we were all in line for. I told him coffee.

So after getting our doughnuts Erin spotted a Qdoba's to eat at. Large burritos were enjoyed by all. We then headed back to Bryan and Dan's for some espresso.

It was a fun day, but for some reason I was dead tired by the end of the night. Friday is looking to be another of these. Ooo, I have always wanted to say this: "That's all the time we have for this episode of SNoT. Join us next Friday when we take you on a Sushi filled trip to paradise."
